Hi, I'm Syed Shariefi — also known as Syed Shuvo when I'm behind a guitar rather than a screen. Based in London, UK, and glad you're here.

Software Engineer & Founder

I'm the Founder & CEO of iNfernalSoft, a software company I've been building since 2011. I hold a Master's degree in Software Systems Engineering from UCL and a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, and have spent over a decade working across the stack in C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Python, Java, and even Assembly and Lisp when the problem called for it.

Before founding iNfernalSoft, I worked as a Software Engineer at Apple, where I built a smart keyword-generation pipeline to improve ad campaign performance, using large-scale data mining and machine learning across Objective-C, R, Java, and MapReduce.

This blog, iNfernalBlog, is where I write about the software development I do day-to-day, from web development (front-end, server-side, full-stack) to native app development across iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows, plus Linux systems and tooling. Expect deep dives into performance, security, open source, and whatever new technology I'm currently taking apart to understand properly.

Musician

Music has been part of my life for even longer than code. I've been singing for over 30 years and playing guitar for close to 25. In 2022, I founded D Sharp Studios, a record label, to release my own music under the artist name Syed Shuvo.

Cinephile

I've rated over 10,000 films and TV series, and written more than 100 reviews on IMDb. That obsession spills into this blog too, in the Reviews section, where I share honest takes on films and shows worth talking about.

Why "iNfernalBlog"?

Because a blog from a software engineer who also releases music and reviews films at 2 am deserves a name with a bit of an edge.
